Following her mother’s self-immolation, Kang Ji-yul retreats into her family estate, leading a dull and isolated existence. Then, a new gardener by the name of Cha Seon-tae comes into her life. He taunts Ji-yul, referring to her as the "princess trapped in a castle," and stays close to her. Attracted to his perilous allure, Ji-yul ultimately becomes intimate with him for the first time.
