Sanctuary

Sanctuary is a political thriller and crime narrative that revolves around two childhood friends, Akira Hojo and Chiaki Asami, who are fiercely battling to create a new way of life in Japan. However, the friends took drastically different routes (using Rock Paper Scissors to determine their roles): Akira opted for the dark side and affiliated himself with a Yakuza gang, whereas Chiaki aimed to become the youngest member of the Japanese Diet. As survivors of the Cambodian killing fields, both characters developed unparalleled aggression and survival instincts, which assist them in reaching their shared ultimate objective: transforming Japan into their own sanctuary.
