Following the untimely loss of her mother, Summer opts to resign from her taxing urban position on a beautiful spring day. She relocates to a tranquil coastal hamlet, intending to utilize her lifetime finances to luxuriate in pure idleness for two years. By adopting a spartan lifestyle, she believes she can sustain herself without needing employment. She revels in the serenity of her fresh surroundings, makes new acquaintances, but soon finds herself besieged by repeated instances of her residence being desecrated with menacing warnings.
