Black Jack

Black Jack is a doctor without official registration who possesses a shadowy and enigmatic history. He collaborates with his young assistant Pinoko, who harbors a significant infatuation for him, as they tackle obscure medical cases that can often be unusual, perilous, or entirely unknown. Despite the nature of these cases, Black Jack is exceptionally intelligent and capable of saving nearly any patient’s life, provided they can afford his fees. He is recognized globally, especially among those in the fields of medicine and science. As a man dedicated to science, he tends to be skeptical until he has witnessed something firsthand; however, he frequently finds himself astonished by the power of love and nature, which often transcend the scientific principles he relies on.

Among the 243 chapters, chapter 113.5: 'U-18 Knew' appeared in a special issue of Weekly Shonen Champion and is therefore unnumbered. Additionally, there are 11 chapters that were not part of the Vertical English release; of these, 3 were exclusively included in the hardcover editions of volumes 1-3, while 5 are classified as Sealed, meaning they were omitted from nearly all collected editions due to their controversial nature or Osamu's dissatisfaction with them.
