Barakamon

Seishuu Handa is recognized as a genius in the realm of calligraphy. However, his extreme arrogance regarding his work leads to a crisis when a senior curator labels his award-winning piece as ordinary and uninspired, causing him to lose his temper, which results in potentially damaging consequences for his career.

In response to his son’s childish behavior, his father—who is also a master calligrapher—decides to send Handa to a village in the Goto Islands as a form of discipline. Stripped of the luxuries of urban life, Handa relocates to a house in the local village, planning to devote his time solely to calligraphy. However, the residence he occupies was previously a hideaway for a group of lively children led by Naru Kotoishi, who are reluctant to vacate. Additionally, the neighbors find the calligrapher to be an intriguing curiosity!

Despite Handa being taken away from his comfortable existence, his interactions with the villagers and their way of life will reveal important insights about himself, his existence, and the art of calligraphy.
