Sophie, the daughter of a noble, suffers from an unusual skin condition and, overwhelmed by guilt, leaps from a window upon learning that her father plans to compel her first love, her physician, into an engagement with her, disregarding his existing affections for another. The impact of her fall triggers memories of a past life in which she was the mother of a daughter afflicted by a similar skin ailment. Inspired by this revelation, she resolves to establish a salon dedicated to helping individuals suffering from skin diseases in her current world.
